Terminology

We wish we could make it even more simple…

Pharmaceutical Grade

The term “pharma grade” does have a strict legal definition. It refers to compounds and raw ingredients that have met strict standards for purity and processing conditions. The US and EU Government issue official monographs and specific assay methods and product specifications to assure identity and potency of materials. Material that is tested by these methods to meet those specifications is then eligible to be called pharmaceutical grade, the highest grade available.

A pharmaceutical grade supplement is guaranteed to be what it says it is. Since many people consume the same supplement every day for long periods of time, consuming a food-grade supplement daily may expose the user to risks from contaminants. This risk is not present when consuming pharmaceutical grade supplements.

Good Manufacturing Practice

Good manufacturing practices (GMP) are the practices required in order to conform to the guidelines recommended by agencies that control authorization and licensing for manufacture and sale of food products and pharmaceutical products. These guidelines provide minimum requirements that a manufacturer must meet to assure that the products are of high quality and do not pose any risk to the consumer or public.

There are some basic manufacturing principles that every country’s GMP guidelines include. One example is hygiene, manufacturers must maintain a clean manufacturing area, and pharmaceutical manufacturers must avoid cross-contamination between ingredients to ensure the safety and effectiveness of products. Production processes must be clearly defined, controlled and documented. GMP also extends to the logistics end, as the distribution of products must minimize any safety risks and clear procedures must be in place to field product complaints and handle recalls.

Research & Development

Our research & development department works tirelessly to source only the finest quality organic ingredients and our mixologists expertly layer real, plant based (vegan) extracts for a remarkably true taste and pure vaping experience. After creating a stabile formulation file for ELYX, development will start and products will be put on stability testing according to ICH guidelines.

Data will be collected at set time points at the prescribed conditions. During R&D products will be extensively tested for stability, processes will be optimised and product quality will be secured in order to validate the manufacturing process.

100% Phyto-Organic

ELYX CBD is made of pure plant based cannabidiol. Our CBD is produced from critical CO2 extraction and after purification of the cannabinoids available as raw material for our e-liquids. Using the Critical CO2 extraction method is environmentally friendly and does not leave any residues in the extract.

Analysis of CBD concentrations

ELYX analyses each batch accurately to provide the guaranteed active substance level of the CBD. During production runs of the individual e-liquids, extra volume CBD e-liquid is added to the base quantities in order to absorb any loss of production to guarantee bottle content. Certificate of Analyses is available at all times.

THC Free

ELYX CDB E-Liquids are guaranteed free of THC. The manufacturing processes and facilities used to produce the product are regularly inspected to ensure they meet strict standards for quality control.

Laboratory Tested

Cannabis obtained from unknown or unreliable sources can be contaminated with all kinds of harmful substances. Both in the media and in the medical literature many examples are known where the use of unsafe cannabis was the cause of serious health problems. ELYX products are therefore always tested to ensure that the following contaminants are absent.

Analysis of micro-organisms

Cannabis is generally grown in warm and humid rooms, where conditions are ideal for the development of micro-organisms such as bacteria and fungi. To ensure that no micro-organisms are present, ELYX ingredients are analysed in the laboratory.

Analysis of pesticides

The use of pesticides is quite normal in agriculture to protect the crops. To exclude that chemical fertilizers or pesticides are found in the product, analysis is essential. ELYX only works with biological control of genetics and never uses chemical pesticides in the cultivation of cannabis.

Analysis of radiation & heavy metals

Radiation and heavy metals such as mercury, arsenic, cadmium or lead are not intentionally added to cannabis. However, they can be present in materials that come into contact with the plant during cultivation, such as water, soil or fertilizers. The cannabis plant absorbs the heavy metals very efficiently through its roots. When consuming the plant, these substances can cause a lot of damage if they accumulate in certain organs. ELYX works with genetics that have been chosen with care in the absence of heavy metals or other chemicals.

Analysis of chemicals & solvents

In order to make cannabis look stronger or to produce more cheaply, synthetic substances are sometimes added to products. It is clear that the inhalation or consumption of unknown substances can lead to dangerous situations. During quality control by an independent laboratory, careful attention is paid to the absence of chemicals and unknown additives.

Sustainability and social responsibility

ELYX is committed to the principles of sustainable development and acts as a socially and ethically responsible company. Compensation of CO2 emissions takes place through the sustainable energy projects selected by Climate Neutral Group. Projects are selected for the contribution they make to the development of the local population and region. Developments such as employment, knowledge transfer, health improvement, stimulation of the own economy and local environmental improvements. We only work with suppliers who believe in the same principles.
